Benin: Program Officers - Interns

Established in July 2014, Engaged For Children is a Canadian not for-profit organization involved in the humanitarian sector and international development. The organization is dedicated to promote and support the growth and integrated development of early childhood and vulnerable children around the world, especially in developing countries. Our focus areas are education, health and nutrition, the promotion of children's rights, water, hygiene and sanitation, as well as children in emergency situations.
As part of the development of our programs and activities in Africa, we are recruiting 4 Program Officers - Interns.

Main responsibilities :

• Conduct the administrative and legal steps for the installation of the country office.
• Ensure the coordination and implementation of programs / projects in the country.
• Identify potential opportunities for designing a project in relation to the focus areas of the NGO.
• Carry out prospecting missions to identify the appropriate zones for projects' implementation.
• Search for project funding opportunities at the local level through international organizations, businesses and private foundations.
• Ensure accountability of accounting and financial operations.
• Ensure liaise between the headquarters of the organization and administrative authorities at local level and prepare reports of activities.

Education and Required Qualifications :

• Hold a Master's degree (4 years) or Technical diploma (2 years) in economics, law, social communication, social sciences, development, or equivalent.
• Have a good knowledge of humanitarian NGOs and organizations' working procedures.
• Have an excellent interpersonal skills and community dialogue skills.
• Being comfortable communicating with administrative authorities and the general public.
• Have an excellent command of French and a good knowledge of English (written, read and spoken).
• Fluency in at least one local language (e.g. dioula, fon, swahili, arabic)

• Have a very good command of the Office Suite, MS Outlook and Internet
  Assets:

• Experience in the NGO sector or with civil society organizations.

• Experience working with children in educational or humanitarian environment.

• Knowledge in management of development programs.
