Summary:

Land O’Lakes seeks a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for a USAID program to assist with the implementation of activities aimed to deploy an integrated pest management strategy to combat Fall Armyworm that will enhance food security, income generation and improve the livelihoods of maize producers in the maize production zones of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In the absence of the COP, the DCOP shall be responsible for all reporting to USAID and shall have the authority to speak for the Recipient.

Responsibilities:

· Assist the COP in overseeing all components of the program;

· Ensure pest management approaches are utilized across program components;

· Provide knowledgeable expertise in DRC working with key government and industry stakeholders;

· Provide leadership, management and direction to field-level activities;

· Ensure gender equality and socially-inclusive approaches are integrated into programming and effectively implemented; identify learnings on a regular basis, refining the design as needed to improve social inclusion across project activities and extension services;

· Assist the COP in monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions;

· Contribute to donor reporting, as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, economics, business, agricultural or rural development.

· Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated management experience in managing agricultural extension, value chain or agri-business projects, with experience in integrated pest management, economic growth, trade, or value chain development, competitiveness, or agricultural development programs is required.

· Demonstrated ability to be collaborative across projects, flexible and creative.

· Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

· Excellent oral and written skills in English and French.

· A Congolese national is preferred for this position.
