We are looking for a Multi Core Competency (CC)s Project Manager - DR Congo
NRC has been present in DR Congo since 2001 and currently runs operations in the eastern provinces of North & South Kivu, Province Orientale and Kasai, with offices in Goma, Bukavu, Beni, Bunia and Kananga. The programme has an annual turnover of approximately NOK 140 mill. (2016). The DR Congo operation responds to populations affected by conflict and displacement. We reached 381.342 individuals in 2016 with education, food security, ICLA, WASH/shelter and emergency response.
The purpose of the Multi CCs Project Managerposition is to implement delegated CC projects/activities portfolio. The focus is on technical management of larger distributions/cash and voucher and emergency response. The role is to support the areas during such responses, both in terms of planning, implementation and follow up. Project reporting on those activities with the necessary documentation will be part of the job.
The Multi CCs Project Manager reports to the Area Manager Kasai
Job description Line management for project staff while deployed in an area
Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
Contribute to the development of Country, Area and CC strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant CCs projects
Coordinate and manage (by delegation from the AMs) CC projects implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements
Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
Provide regular progress reports to the Area Managers, the CCs Specialists and HoP
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with Cs) and coordinate across CCs
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Technical CC (X) expertise on distribution/ cash and voucher
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal
Valid driver’s license
Knowledge of the context in DR Congo
Experience with larger distributions and cash/voucher programs

We offer Duty station: - Commencement: March/April 2018
Duration: 12 months
Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions and free housing of moderate standard.
Grade: 8
Duty station: Kananga, Kasai Central with 80% travels. Kananga is a non-family posting. International staff members are required to live in joint accommodation.
Approved health certficate will be requested before contract start.
