Type of contract: Fixed Term, 12 Months

Salary: Entre 22,981 – 32,743 £ Net per annum. Oxfam will meet the tax and social security liabilities of the post holder in relation to employment with Oxfam

Context:

Oxfam is one of the world's leading humanitarian and development agencies assisting people affected by natural disasters, poverty and conflict throughout the world. With many thousand staff and dedicated volunteers in more than 80 countries, Oxfam is able to achieve the greatest impact to end poverty and suffering through combining emergency response work, long-term programmes for poverty alleviation and campaigning for lasting change. DRC is one of Africa's largest, most diverse and poorest countries, with very unstable security context. With more than 15 years armed conflict, DRC is one of the largest humanitarian contexts in which providing relief aid is challenging but exciting.

JOB PURPOSE

To develop, coordinate and deliver the SWIFT programme as part of the essential services programme of Oxfam International for the DRC

Roles and Responsibilities

Coordinate the implementation of the program, monitor field activities across the project and ensure respect of implementation deadline; Provide management of financial, logistical and program responsibilities at the project level; Work with the team, partners and MEAL coordinators to capture lessons learnt; Conduct ongoing evaluation of the actions taken and propose corrective measures if necessary; Realise field visits and spot check; Make sure the project is implemented in accordance with the requirements and criteria established within the programme; Consolidate and validate financial and programme reporting with partners; Organise and facilitate workshops, coordination meetings of the programme and operational teams; Organised visits of the programme when necessary; Draft the impact evaluation project with colleagues from Oxford; Work with MEAL colleagues, consultants and staff on implementation of evaluation project; Develop case studies and learning platforms with partners to profile the project and provide lessons learnt.

The Person

To achieve this you will need to have Previous project management experience; Excellent analytical and critical thinking ability and experience of high-level strategic discussions; Experience working on development programmes in the region on similar work; Track record of M&E work and documentation of knowledge; Track record of high performance and ability to deliver in high pressure environments; Understanding of gender in development and in conflict; Experience of working with UN agencies, government bodies and ability to build coalitions and gain consensus; Strong interpersonal skills including good team work; Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally, strong English and French skills; Sympathy with the aim of Oxfam to end poverty and suffering; Degree or equivalent experience; Experience of capacity building and working effectively with civil society in African contexts (D); Experience of heading up a consortium
