The role
The Project Manager will be responsible for providing technical and managerial oversight of the existing education projects in PNK and for the further development and expansion of the education portfolio in partnership with SC Norway and other supporting members. This includes:
- Ensuring an excellent of delivery of Education in Emergencies (EiE) which focuses on the contextualisation and implementation of the Inter-agency National Eduction in Emergences (INEE) guidelines, as well as safe access to quality primary education and Schools as Zones for Peace (SZOP) which focuses on the contextualisation and implementation of Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA) guidelines within 30 schools and communities.
- Representation of and raising the profile of SC education with the province including to partners and the Cluster
- Develop strong relationships with the funding member, SC Norway, across technical advisors, award management and the SMT, as necessary, to ensure effective program delivery
- Mapping of technical best practices, tools used, lessons learnt and effectively share with partners and global program coordination team to inform program planning and implementation worldwide
Qualifications and experience
- EiE expert with INEE and GCPEA specialisms
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience of these approaches with an international humanitarian aid organization, preferably within the Central and/or East Africa context. Experience in Eastern DRC will be an asset.
- Fluency (oral and written) in English and French are required. Swahili language skills are an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management
- Creative and innovative approach to design and deliver effective training interventions.
- Demonstrated success in providing hands-on training and technical assistance to education providers
- Able and willing to travel and spend time to remote and insecure locations.
