Here’s where you come in:

As Associate Director for Advocacy and Communications, you are responsible for leading and coordinating advocacy and communications. You will lead the development and implementation of the ‘It Takes a World to End Violence Against Children Campaign’. You will position, build the profile and manage the reputation of the DRC National Office via government, UN, peer agency engagement and media. You will manage the Advocacy Manager and the Communications Manager and provide dotted line technical management to Zonal Advocacy staff.

Requirements include:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, development studies, International Relations, Communications or its equivalent.
  • 5 years of senior leadership experience in advocacy, campaigns, communications and government and stakeholder engagement in a fragile context.
  • Advanced understanding of social accountability methodologies.
  • Understanding of humanitarian and peacekeeping architecture, international humanitarian law.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English.
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time.
