Description of Job duties:
- Along with the Country Director (CD), Senior Program Manager (SPM) and Regional Program Development Officer (RPDO), be familiar with all funding sources (UN, government & non-government agencies, Samaritan's Purse International Headquarters & Affiliates); be alert to upcoming funding opportunities; and participate in matching opportunities with aspects of Samaritan's Purse-DRC’s strategic plan.
- Develop concept papers and prepare grant proposals to Samaritan's Purse and donor organizations.
- Ensure that program planning aligns with relevant international and internal standards.
- Assist SPM in monitoring the funding status of the total program to identify possible funding gaps, and in charting a smooth transition from one grant to the next.
- Assist SPM with representation of Samaritan's Purse and networking with other players.
- Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers.
- Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
- Assess, manage, and report critical physical, emotional, or spiritual concerns of supervised staff.
Job requirements:
- Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year College or university; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree in International Development preferred but not required.
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
- Experience working for humanitarian organizations or International NGOs will be an advantage.
- Field-level grant-writing experience with major donors (governments and UN agencies).
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral proficiency in English.
- Fluency in French– writing, reading and speaking.
- Strong skills in analytical and strategic thinking.
- Good quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications, in particular proficiency required in MS Word, MS Excel and Power Point.
Two-year contract with the potential for renewal.
This is an unaccompanied assignment.
