Background

Oxfam’s DRC programme is one of our biggest, providing both emergency aid and long-term development to some 800,000 people, with over 350 staff and is one of our priority countries for humanitarian policy and campaigning.
Key Result Areas:
Ø Support OGB to raise money for Oxfam’s unrestricted funds through a high-profile partnership with leading South Korean broadcaster MBC.
Ø Develop a strong relationship with MBC to increase Oxfam’s profile in South Korea.
Ø Inspire South Korean ambassadors to support Oxfam’s work and advocate on behalf of the people Oxfam works with.

Consultant requirements
To achieve this you will need to have an excellent knowledge of international media needs; Previous experience managing or supporting international media trips; Excellent negotiations skills and ability to work well with multi-cultural teams; Very good written and verbal English skills; Ability to identify strong stories or individuals for interview; Good understanding of risk in the local context and ability to manage difficult situations; Strong interpersonal skills including good team work; Quick thinking and problem solving skills; Sympathy with the aim of Oxfam to end poverty and injustice; Experience of working with ambassadors or celebrities; Experience working with an international NGO.
