The strategic objective of ActionAid International is to work with poor and marginalized communities so as to strengthen their capacity to advocate for international and national policies that promote their rights to a world without poverty with a focus on the right to gender equality, the right to education and food security, the right to human security during conflict and emergencies, the right to life of dignity in the face HIV/AIDS and the right to justice and democratic governance.
ActionAid International DRC (AAIDRC) is urgently looking for a qualified, experienced and self-motivated person to fill in the Consultancy Opportunity as Head of HROD four (4) months, starting as soon as possible.As a member of country senior management team, The Head of Human Resources, Organisational Development is responsible for:-
- Coordinating Admin, Security, Logistics, Organisational Development & Human Resources at the organization.
- Ensuring effective, harmonious and interdependent functioning of themes, functions and programs within the Country Programme (CP). This will extend to external interactions with key stake holders such as ActionAid International (AAI) International Secretariat, Regional Office, other ActionAid CPs/Offices, partners, consultants.
- Developing and implementing Human Resources policies, procedures and systems that maximise the contribution of individuals and teams in the achievement of Country Program strategy, plans and priorities that are aligned to HR good practices, ActionAid Internationals (AAI) Global HROD Framework and Standards, and in compliance with all local labour laws. This will include development and implementation of efficient and cost effective administrative systems.
- Sustained Organisational Development by developing and implementing interventions in Country Programme (CP) human resources processes, structures and systems in response to changing organisational contexts, strategies and priorities.**To be eligible to apply for the role you should have:**
- Bachelor’s and Master degree in social sciences, Human Resources, OD, Business; a master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Membership of relevant professional Institute.
- At least 5 years HR/OD experience at senior management position, in a large organisation with experience in Human Resource planning, recruitment, design and implementation of progressive HR strategies, systems, procedures and practices.
- Good knowledge of National Labour laws and Employee Relations Systems
- Excellent management, leadership and coaching skills.
- Excellent skills in facilitation and capacity building for inter-linkages between staff, partners & stakeholders.
- Strong and effective communication skills, with proven ability to negotiate and influence change, with sensitivity.
