Democratic Republic of the Congo: Deputy Director, Fluent in French and English

Overall Job Description:

Under the supervision of the ICART Director, the Deputy Director will carry out the day-to-day operations of ICART. This will include managing local and international collaborations and projects, managing ICART staff, assisting with grant writing, developing trainings, coordinating ICART’s scientific conferences, overseeing the ICART budget, and ensuring communication is maintained within the international project staff.

Contract Length:

One year full-time position from hire date. If additional funding becomes available and the ICART Steering Board is satisfied with the Deputy Director’s work, options for contract extension may be available.

Qualifications:

· PhD degree in health or social sciences, or other related field

· Fluency in French and English

· Research publication track record (in international journals)

· Experience with interdisciplinary collaborations

· Experience working with local and international researchers

· Experience managing research staff

· Experience mentoring students, scholars and other research project leaders

· Experience managing budgets, timelines, human resources, strategy and governance
