In order to facilitate and to maximise the impact of the humanitarian operations financed by the European Union in Cameroon and of the EU civil protection activities coordinated by the European Commission in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in the Great Lakes region, the expert will be appointed to the post of humanitarian Technical Assistant Regional Rapid Response Coordinator (RRC) /WASH Sector expert by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection - ECHO.The expert will be part of ECHO's Regional Office based in Kinshasa, DRC. He/She will be responsible for ECHO's operational activities in the area of Rapid Response and WASH sector. She/he will be required to carry out regular missions to identify and assess humanitarian needs and to monitor programmes in DRC,
Republic of Congo, Angola, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda. At the request of ECHO Brussels, the expert may also be called upon to carry out missions linked to his specific responsibilities to neighbouring countries or to Brussels, and should be prepared to react to a current or evolving crisis in any other region in the world following a request by DG ECHO Brussels. Qualification requirements:Language: very good command of French; good knowledge of English
The candidate must have at least 4 years of experience in delivering humanitarian assistance in the following domains:
- Management of multi sectorial Humanitarian aid programmes
- Water and sanitation
Previous experience in Africa is required.
