Based: Goma, DRC

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to lead the DRC team, Alert’s largest country programme.

You will be responsible for all strategic, programmatic, legal, reputational, relational, security, financial, administrative and other aspects of the DRC programme. Specifically you will: provide strategic leadership to Alert’s peacebuilding work in DRC; ensure that Alert’s team in DRC is well staffed, managed and coordinated; supervise systems and procedures to ensure good stewardship of Alert’s DRC human and financial resources; represent Alert DRC with local and international partners and stakeholders; and contribute to the Great Lakes regional programmes in particular and to the Africa Programme in general and Alert’s wider organisational goals.

With a relevant degree, you will have solid experience of people and financial management and will be able to operate comfortably both in English and in French. You will have experience of implementing peacebuilding programmes in a challenging environment.

With a talent for mobilising and galvanising a diverse and dispersed collection of staff and projects behind your leadership and vision of Alert’s peacebuilding programme in DRC, you will have a sound understanding of the local context and experience of developing and managing partnerships with local and international stakeholders.

Salary: £41,500, plus excellent benefits**
